Automation & Control Specialists

Xcel Automation Ltd. is currently seeking Junior & Senior Automation Specialists to join our team, based out of our Calgary & Grande Prairie offices. Specializing in oil & gas, solid wood, and water treatment industries, we provide Industrial Automation and SCADA solutions to Western Canada.
Ideal candidates will be responsible, motivated individuals that are excited to join an ever-growing, enthusiastic automation team that provides a full spectrum of automation knowledge within our group.
Qualifications include, but not limited to:
Experience with PLC, DCS, HMI & SCADA platforms including Rockwell, Schneider/Modicon, VTScada, Geoscada, DeltaV, Honeywell Experion/TDC3000, Cygnet, and Wonderware.
Knowledgeable with OT/Automation industrial data communications and networking architecture.
Experience in medium to large scale oil & gas processing facilities considered an asset.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Team player who has integrity.

Electrical/Controls Drafter/Designer

Xcel Automation is an established integrator of Industrial Automation and SCADA solutions. We apply this expertise within many types of industries across Western Canada. We are currently seeking a Drafter/Designer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible, detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to our growing and enthusiastic automation and engineering team. As part of our team, you will work closely with engineers and automation specialists to produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings for industrial control systems.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Experience in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for creating and modifying electrical and control system drawings.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards (e.g., CSA, ISA, NEC, IEC).
Knowledge of panel layouts, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and loop drawings for industrial automation projects.
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
Must possess strong written and oral English skills.
Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical, EPLAN, SmartPlant, Visio or other drafting software is considered an asset.
Familiarity with industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS, is an asset.
Experience in medium-to-large oil & gas processing facilities is also considered an asset.

Office administrator

Xcel Automation Ltd. is an established integrator of Industrial Automation. We apply this expertise within many types of industries across Western Canada.
We are currently looking for a professional and friendly office administrator to join our Grande Prairie office. This is a full time position at 40 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling and strong potential for growth.
Working within a small team of automation professionals, you will use your knowledge and demonstrated experience to support our team in a wide variety of administrative tasks.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
General office duties such as maintaining office supply inventory, managing mail and correspondence, and supporting day to day office organization
Maintaining and updating work ticket records in our internal system, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Assisting in organizing company events, meetings, and conferences
Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable as required
Assisting with human resources tasks such as onboarding new employees or contractors and maintaining employee records
Additional duties may be assigned as the role grows with the successful candidate
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work independently while contributing within a team environment
Excellent time management skills
Very organized and pays high attention to detail
Thrives in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
Knowledge of Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) is an asset but not required
Experience with marketing/social media is an asset but not required
